Financial Information

As educators we would love to be able to say that a quality public education was completely free and devoid of serious financial obligations, however that would be irresponsible and unrealistic. In order to provide for the material needs and educational opportunities that our students will experience, there are real budgetary plans that must be supported along the way.

As a member of The Chantilly Choral Department, there are numerous financial responsibilities that must be addressed and fulfilled during the course of the school year. In addition to the standard co-curricular fees, the overall cost of touring travel, competitions, and the accommodations and activities related to such events averages between $1,000.00 and $1,200.00 per student for the summary of each school year. Since these activities are a required part of the class we make every effort to provide fundraising opportunities, and group financial incentives to help defray the cost of these activities. It is vitally important that you know and understand your financial responsibilities, and that you and your family take part in every fundraiser to assist us in reaching our goals for the year.

I. FEES

A participation fee (also called a Uniquip Fee) is required of each student of a co-curricular class in order to achieve the goals and objectives of each course, and to maintain Chantilly's high standard of excellence in music education. These fees are specifically designed to defray the cost of uniform and equipment purchase, replacement, and maintenance. The boosters, through these fees, provides uniforms for every student in every ensemble. Additional materials are also needed to assist the students as they work to function properly in the classroom and performance settings. ALL FEES ARE DUE BY THE FIRST FRIDAY OF SCHOOL. CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO CHANTILLY HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC BOOSTERS, C/O THE CHORAL MUSIC ACCOUNT, AND MARKED WITH YOUR SINGER’S NAME. THESE FEES ARE REQUIRED FOR FULL PARTICIPATION.
